Apple updates iLife apps - Macworld

Posted by loudfrogs On 5:00 PM

Apple has updated its iLife 08 applications and accompanying software. The updates are available for download from Apple’s Web site, and can also be downloaded through the Software Update system preference.

The new versions are as follows:

  • iWeb 2.0.4
  • iLife Support 8.3
  • iMovie 7.1.4
  • iPhoto 7.1.4

For the most part, the updates “address general compatibility issues, improve overall stability and address a number of other minor issues,” according to Apple. The exception is iPhoto 7.1.4, which contains new holiday greeting card and postcard themes for use with Apple print products.

However, there is one cosmetic change to the updates. References to Apple’s recently shelved .Mac service in the apps’ menu commands have been replaced with references to the newly launched MobileMe Service, a move Apple executives characterized as a “branding” update. Earlier this month, Apple released Mac OS X Update for Mobile Me 1.1, which included general system fixes that enhanced OS X 10.5.4 for running MobileMe.

iLife Support includes system software components shared by all iLife ’08 applications.

Updated at 3:59 p.m. PT to include information about the MobileMe changes in the iLife ’08 updates.
