For the second year in a row, Rolling Stone Magazine has featured John Mayer on the cover of their now annual "Guitar" issue - both May 2008's "Living Guitar Legends" issue and February 2007's "Guitar Heroes" round-up have paired Mayer with peers and icons alike. Pairings with a range of artists are a defining trait of the artist whose collaborative streak is well-known. Since his debut in 2001, Mayer has defied genre - from rock to blues, hip-hop to jazz to country, performing and/or recording with artists such as Eric Clapton, BB King, Buddy Guy, T-Bone Burnett, Herbie Hancock, Dixie Chicks, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Ahmir ?uestlove, among others. In 2005, Mayer famously toured and recorded with power players Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan as the John Mayer Trio, whose live album TRY! featured searing blues and rock.
New dates have been added to John Mayer's 2008 summer tour, sponsored by BlackBerry(r). As previously announced, Mayer's run with special guests Colbie Caillat and Brett Dennen begins July 2 in Milwaukee, WI. Mayer's tour will now close out the summer with the addition of new dates with guests Paramore and OneRepublic. Tickets for the added dates become available with an exclusive Music presale begun from June2. The tour started a couple of weeks ago but There are still, however, plenty of dates left that run all the way through the 31st of next month.
