Motorola's Rokr 8 Finally Available Through T-Mobile

Posted by loudfrogs On 7:20 AM

Motorola?s new Rokr E8 mobile phone, presented all the way back in January at the Consumer Electronics Show, will finally be available from an U.S. carrier, as T-Mobile announced its release starting July 7.

The Rokr E8 was one of the show?s main attractions, offering a brand new experience for all music enthusiasts who want to have their tunes available at all times. The new mode-shift technology allows the conversion from cell phone to music player by the touch of a single button. It supports several file types, including AAC, AAC+, MP3, WAV, and also RealAudio.

The phone has 2 Giga Bytes of memory and there is also the option of expanding it with 4 Giga Bytes of additional storage capacity.

When it is not in use, the device presents a smooth screen without any visible add-ons and it offers a tactile feedback when pressing the keys. It carries a 2 Mega Pixels camera, built-in speaker, Bluetooth, Web browser and an FM radio. The screen has a 262,000-color display on a 320 x 240 resolution. Its measures are 4.5-by-2.1-by-0.4-inches.

The CrystalTalk feature provides excellent call clarity, an aspect usually overlooked by today?s cell phone manufacturers, which tend to focus on the additional features.

?With ROKR E8, U.S. music lovers no longer have to settle when it comes to using their mobile phone as a music player and vice versa,? said Jean Pierre Le Cannellier, senior director of North America marketing at Motorola Mobile Devices, according to WirelessWeek.

Thinking about the phone?s bad points, one of the first things that come to mind is that it does not include 3G coverage, wireless music downloads or e-mail support, in addition to the hard-to-learn navigations controls.

The price for the new gadget has not yet been released.

The innovative design and new technological features are very likely to turn the device into one of the year?s best sellers.
